Organizations<\/h1>\n

Midwifery In Oklahoma<\/strong>
\nOklahoma currently has no state regulations prohibiting or regulating direct entry midwives. All midwives affiliated with CMS are certified through the national educational process established by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and are members in good standing of the Oklahoma Midwives Alliance (OMA).<\/p>\n

The Oklahoma Midwives Alliance (OMA)<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe Oklahoma Midwives Alliance was established to further the goal of safe midwifery care in Oklahoma. The purpose of the Oklahoma Midwives Alliance (OMA) is to promote the safe practice of midwifery by protecting and advancing the rights of parents who choose an out-of-hospital birth and a midwife as their primary birth attendant by facilitating communication between midwives, furthering the education of midwives, educating the public regarding out-of-hospital birth and midwives, and assisting other organizations with similar purposes. The OMA is a professional organization available to all potential members.<\/p>\n

MANA<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe goal of Midwives Alliance of North American (MANA) is to unify and strengthen the profession of midwifery, thereby improving the quality of health care for women, babies, and communities. MANA also welcomes student and midwifery advocate members as another valuable part of the organization<\/p>\n

NARM<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) is an international certification agency whose mission is to establish and administer certification for the credential “Certified Professional Midwife” (CPM).<\/p>\n

DONA<\/strong><\/a>
\nDONA International is the largest doula association in the world. They provide training and certification for doulas and provide access to information and research about doulas, childbirth and the postpartum experience.<\/p>\n

CAPPA<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

CAPPA is an international certification organization for Doulas, Childbirth Educators and Lactation Educators. Since our foundation in 1998, we have certified thousands of perinatal professionals. As one of the first and most comprehensive perinatal organizations in the world, CAPPA is respected for its longevity and its commitment to excellence in both education and unsurpassed student and member support.<\/p>\n

Citizens for Midwifery<\/strong><\/a>
\nCitizens for Midwifery is a non- profit, volunteer, grassroots organization. Founded by several mothers in 1996, it is the only national consumer-based group promoting the Midwives Model of Care.<\/p>\n
